What in the world is the Warden doing?A question with no answer beyond...prancing. Many younger soldiers was staring at the Warden for the first time while older ones tensed up a tad. She reeked of unkempt malice Avalon vi Leomagne, the Warden of the Trench, the Soldier of the Red Mist, carried herself with an energetic glee and a hum on her lips. That sort of expression was found sooner in an Academy student who aced an exam than in a woman who made art out of torturing inmates. Lo and behold, she had rhythm, flair, and most of all, a purpose. Her destination that she skipped to was where Aster Villin commenced in her operations. Aster Villin... Avalon read all her speeches from her initial campaign to become an Arbiter. When she was a Knight, she would go to every speech, apply to help with every mission, and try to follow her around when she was at Runehome, surveying the soldiers. Though she would admit it candidly, it was a small secret that Avalon had the promotional artwork plastered on her wall. Fanaticism wasn't lost on Avalon, she knew exactly what pushed her towards the Arbiter. In the lightness of Aster's eyes, there was an intimidating strain. Aster wasn't just the people's Arbiter, no, she was much more. She could destroy anyone that she saw fit because that was the kind of woman she was. She was powerful--the definition of the word. No, Avalon wasn't obsessed. No. Not at all. She didn't starve for her attention."Warden Leomagne!" the guards at the door stood at attention. Avalon greeted them with a similar gesture before smiling widely. "At ease, soldiers. Arbiter Villin and myself are to have a meeting," she explained, but then an awkward silence fell upon all the individuals present. Avalon's smile faltered a little bit when she realized that the guards shared looks. One guard found the bravery to speak up. "I believe you and your Arbiter are just having lunch." "A. Meeting."Avalon's eyes could cut but the guards moved out of the way. When she stepped in, she stood at attention. She had to struggle not to glare back at the snickering guards. "Miss Arbiter Villin Sir!" she announced loud and proud, "it's a honor to be in your presence today!"

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] An elbow was on the table and Aster's chin resting on the palm of her hand while her fingers gently tapped near her plate; Turkey Club Roulades. An all time favorite dish to eat during the lunch hours, and it was the same thing she ordered for a very special someone. Hopefully they wouldn't mind. Inhaling through her nose, she released a small sigh. The scent of the food before her was driving her crazy, but she had to be patience. She was a woman who loved her job, loved getting through paperwork even if it could be tiresome, meetings, and other plans that she believed that could drive her closer to her own personal gains. This time, however, wasn't the case. Well, entirely the case to say the least. [break][break] She was on a lunch break, but she wouldn't dare do it alone. Isolation was okay, but why not spend that time with someone else? That thought made Aster do the initiative of inviting someone over to have lunch with her. There were a lot of options she could've chosen from to share her lunch break with. Some that she'd enjoy herself talking to, others she'd find interesting, and a few she'd regret to invite if they meant ruining her relaxation. But, there was one person she immediately had in mind to have lunch with. [break][break] The Warden, Avalon vi Leonmange. Nothing made her more prouder and her heart warmer than someone who showed such a desire to bring even the most unpleasant and vile criminals behind bars. Aster had always admired the Warden's determination and pride for justice. She also admired the loyalty she not only displays for the council as a whole, but for Aster as well on some personal matters. It would be perfect to get to know some council members on a personal level, especially someone like the Warden herself. [break][break] Maybe she could explain about her intentions of "reshaping" the council. [break][break] And speak of the devil. Aster turned her attention to the door where the Warden just entered into the room alongside announcing her arrival. The woman flashed a genial smile at the Warden as she addressed her. "With enthusiasm like that, I think it should be an honor for me to be in your presence. And no need for the honorifics, dear. Call me Aster. I'd prefer to take a break from such things if we aren't talking about serious matters in the real world." She giggled. [break][break] Aster motioned a hand towards the seat across from her with her other arm. "Please, have a seat. I... didn't exactly know what you wanted, a dismay on my part for not asking what you've wanted, but hopefully you'll enjoy this meal of Turkey Club Roulades!" She reassured with a confident nod. "I hope your day is going well like mine. So far, at least. It must be exhausting being in the Trench for almost the whole day.. but I don't think I'd want any other Warden if they don't show the same dedication as you do."

The Warden struggled to keep her composure as she was given the opportunity to call an esteemed Arbiter by her first name. To have those gorgeous yellow eyes look at her with such cordial energy behind them made Avalon feel not herself. There wasn't a shred of the domineering aura coming off Aster either. This was a lax meeting, one had between associates, not superior and subordinate. For it to happen with Avalon as a participant wasn't something she had fathomed...not one bit. Sure, she heard rumors that the Arbiters held her in high regard but Avalon knew not to dwell on speculation. Yet, the rumors were true.
"An honor for you--" Avalon stammered over her words, unable to speak them right, "no, no, by all means, I'm gracious that you called me to--"
This time, her stopping point came at Aster's food of choice. Underneath the frantic energy, there was a shred of disappointment. Avalon hated turkey. If a bird needed to be slain for consumption, it would be a chicken or a duck. Turkey was something her father enjoyed a bit too much; Avalon was subjected to eating it daily during some weeks. Nevertheless, Aster had apologized, amazingly, for her shortsightedness. Avalon sat down, giggling like a rookie knight at the direct praise. Her posture was rigid, something heavily instructed through her childhood and younger years as a Knight.
"It might be a little odd to say but that's where I've always wanted to work, Arbiter," she pursed her lips quickly, "I mean, Ms. Aster, Aster! Forgive me."
Avalon very audibly cleared her throat.
"What I meant to say was that it isn't that exhausting if you've prepared your whole life for the position. You come to find a sort of beauty, if I'm being honest, in the place. It's a direct sight of where the scum of the world goes to be dealt with," Avalon clenched her gloved fist, "if I could show everyone, then they can rest assured that the criminals captured will never be a threat again."
The Warden took hold of the sandwich and took a wholesome bite. She tasted the sauce before anything, which helped her swallow the food after a few bites. She only suffered the texture of the meat for a few seconds thankfully. Wiping her mouth off, Avalon shifted in her seat, letting her be comfortable.
"I assure you that your work is a lot more stressful than tending to the filth."

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] Aster took a small bite of her roulade before setting it down and washing it down with water; wine in the afternoon wasn't an ideal drink when it came to lunch breaks. She giggled at the minor mistake of being addressed by her formal title, though it wasn't the first time someone would slip up to that. "No worries, it's not something I let people do so often anyhow." She explained. She only allows it when she's both comfortable around the person and it was outside of political matters. She was more than willing to expose her more friendlier side more than anything. Other than that, she'd rather be referred to her formal title for the sake of professionalism. [break][break] "Mm... I see." She said with a firm nod while taking another bite of her roulade. "It makes sense to prepare for something you'd expect to happen for a position like yours. Now I feel a little bit silly for asking." Another giggle was given as she took one more bite before setting the roulade down and took another drink of her water. [break][break] She leaned back in her seat with a leg crossed over the other and an arm under the other one that held the water bottle, as if she was in slightly lost in her thoughts before looking back at the Warden. "Well I'm more than willing to admit that tending to Arbiter matters can be tiresome... but like you, it isn't too stressful if it's something I've trained my whole life for. Someone needs to make sure the council stays in order." She added. [break][break] "But I just can't help but admire you. I don't think I've ever seen someone so firm, devoted to their position as Warden, reminding criminals their places. It makes me extremely grateful to have someone as true-hearted like you in the council." Aster said with an appreciative smile. She wasn't one to give out compliments so easily, but nothing impressed her more than pure and sheer loyalty to their job to give her infinite respect. [break][break] "...In fact, it makes me wonder how far you're willing to risk things for not just the council as a whole, but perhaps for more personal matters from the highest authorities of the council."

Avalon's eyes must have been miniature stars at this point with the way that Aster was speaking to her. Compliments, jokes, and a generally jovial air to everything. It wasn't exactly commonplace, though. Aster was a considerate woman, a patron saint to those with a similar mindset as Avalon. Avalon heard the nasty rumors trailing behind Aster's march to a better future. If she had the chance, she'd lock the naysayers up and hang them by their entrails. "No, you're not silly for asking at all. If anything," Avalon paused, nudging her fingertips together under the table, "no one has ever asked me about the position. Most people just avoid me, if I can be candid for a moment."The Trench was lonely. The guards there knew Avalon but only as the Warden. The prisoners either cursed her name or ran from her general presence. The only shocking visitation came in the form of the fools trying to break people out and die trying. Avalon hoped that one day her presence wouldn't make her allies nervous. Admitting that she was a woman that carried hostility as her weapon was the first step to realizing what impact she had among others. Fundamentally, she was the strongest force there, leading many that were well above her in years. An achievement she often forgot was that she was one of the youngest to ever be promoted to such a position. It's something that her father and compatriots remind her of in times of doubt. Yet, here, in the room before one of the strongest members of the Council, the accomplishment seemed minute. Avalon's eyes dropped to a tile on the floor, avoiding Aster's luminous eyes for just a moment. "Our positions are important but I cannot imagine being where you are. I'll take a lifetime of the Trench over being a public figure," a nervous truth spoken through murmurs, but all came before her vocalization of shock. Crimson eyes widened at the highest compliment she had received possibly ever. Admire me?!
If it wasn't a total embarrassment to do so, Avalon would have fallen over with foam oozing out her mouth. She was barely coherent to take in Aster's transition. Aster's magical way of speaking worked wonders on the fanatic Warden. Avalon shook away the flustered energy and turned back to the obedient soldier she was. "As far as the world's edge, Ms. Aster! Any request given by an Arbiter is one to be taken with the utmost importance," Avalon placed her hand over her heart, "I'd be honored to risk my life, soul, my very existence if you called on it."Then, Avalon's mind caught something amiss. "But, erh, a personal matter, Ms. Aster?"

"Mm... if people avoid you, then that must mean you're living up to your title. I would consider it as a good thing, though I can understand where you're coming from. Still, it doesn't take away the fact that you're a respectable woman doing her job." Aster has had her few shares of people avoiding her or even being intimidated by her just by her position alone. The only difference is she enjoys that kind of effect; it feeds into her desire for more power, to have more control over other people. She enjoys the intimidations that other feels, even if she tries to play it off by acting approachable.
Aster took another sip of her water before taking her final bite of her first roulade. She tried to envision herself working in the Trench instead of being an Arbiter. Although her life would've taken an interesting route, she didn't really see herself as someone who could easily pull off what Avalon could do. In fact, she felt embarrassed just thinking about it. "It's the opposite on my end." She explained, shaking her head with a light chuckle. "I'd look like a fool if I'd tried to do any of your work. Being a public figure seems... easier, at least since it's something I've prepared for. And please, just call me Aster, dear. No need for the Ms. ." She chuckled.
Things were shifting to a more opportunistic twist when she was questioned about personal matters and she wasn't going to pass it up. Aster shifted in her seat to lean on the table closer to Avalon's direction. Both elbows being placed on the table, she laid her chin in between them, cupping her face. She slightly tilted her head while shooting the Warden a lovely smile. Her overall body language appeared take some interest in Avalon, hoping the smile would top it off. "Well... I don't want to sound unprofessional, but since we're not in a formal setting I don't think there would be any problem when I say this,"
Aster's voice became soft and amorous as she crossed one leg over the other before she continued. "I admire you, as I've said before, but my admiration has expanded to more than just your work. There's just something about your loyalty, your honor, your sadism for the prisoners... it just... excites me. I can always count on you for me to rest my shoulder when I'm tired, pull me up when I'm down, carry me if I can't carry myself. If there's someone I can trust my life on, it's most definitely you. Although this personal matter..."
She paused to break a hand from cupping her face and laid out her hand, opened in hopes of Avalon letting the Arbiter hold it. "Let's just say it's a very personal matter I think we'll both enjoy." This was nothing more than just attempting to fish a reaction from the warden; see how far her feeling for the Arbiter are and use it as a chance to work for her. Even though it was admitted she'd essentially risk her life for Aster, any sort of feeling would just feel like she has more of an advantage than she already has.

Excites? That was a word to use, Avalon loosely thought. She devoured the sandwich, if out of respect for the Arbiter. She did very properly, making sure not to leave nary a crumb for anyone to witness. When she finished, she almost choked on the sandwich as she saw Aster move forward. The air in the room shifted to a more intimate state, where Aster stared at Avalon with a certain kind of energy that she couldn't recognize. "Aster," she tried to voice her concern for the way that Aster stared at her, blessed her with words, and gave her attention that everyone would die for. She couldn't, choosing to bite her tongue at the sight of Aster's next gesture. Aster's leg went over the other, alluring Avalon's eyes to land there for a moment. She was so casual in their conversation, contrasting Avalon's rigid form. Seeing this, Avalon closed her eyes. It was but a moment until they re-opened. It was at this point that Avalon remembered something vital to everything. Before the Arbiter, a Knight should strip themselves bare. They shouldn't have to worry about trying to maintain appearance. If they're respectful, attentive, and gracious, there's nothing to be worried about. Aster took Avalon as she was, including the latent bloodlust. Avalon briefly pondered if Aster had appeared at any of the recent executions--seen Avalon's handiwork firsthand. Did it tantalize her? It must have in some capacity. Avalon's shoulders slumped, finally breaking past the social barrier that she kept up. She listened to Aster speak, her words like honey. Avalon drank them like a person dying of thirst, choosing to drown in the opportunity to indulge her ego. Avalon held back a sharp breath, one derived from the wavering lust she had for her Arbiter. She reached for her glove, taking one off. "I--" she began, "everything that I am is something for you to utilize, Aster. If you wanted me to destroy the whole world, I would by your command."Anyone hearing this conversation would certainly label Avalon an attack dog of Aster, leash and all. However, Avalon's counter to that ideology? I rather be a dog cherished and fed by the greatest of masters than a mutt in the streets, scrapping for a mere bone.Avalon interlaced her fingers with Aster's, lifting her hand to squeeze. It may have been a foolish gesture but Avalon drew closer. She brought the back of Aster's hand against her cheek, nuzzling it gently. Her face now the picture of fanatic idolization, a close cousin to subjugation. "Please grant me the chance to aid you, Aster. So I can show you just how much I'm willing to do."

[attr="class","onlytimeleft"] "And this is why I adore your loyalty and passion. Anyone willing to do anything for me on other matters are already suitable when to work closer with me." Aster spoke with a firm nod given to the Warden. So far, Avalon already proved to the Arbiter how much she's willing to risk it all for her. Aster wouldn't have any other warden or even another member of the council she could put one hundred percent of her trust in. [break][break] Avalon's motion of intertwining her hand with the arbiter's own and squeezing it definitely threw her off guard. Her eyes slightly widen at the action, more caught off guard than anything else despite her own gesture being obvious inviting to something. Aster was usually good at keeping her emotions at bay, especially with such a prestigious position that helps shape Eos and and make her heavily involved within the political world. Reactions, as taught by her parents, could be used against her, but this was a completely different situation that such a statement wouldn't relate to. [break][break] Before Aster would try to speak up, she felt the other woman's warm cheek nuzzling against the back of her hand. As much as she fought back showing any other reaction that may seem out of character, her cheeks were slowly changing into a red color from the bold gesture. Her tail that was hidden within her kimono also reacted to the gesture as it began to gently wag sideways. It almost looked as if something was moving from behind in her outfit. Just from that alone slightly darkened the blush in her cheeks out of embarrassment. [break][break] "Oh! I, uh," Aster paused to clear her throat as a way to regain her composure. "You don't even have to ask to be given a chance for something like that. You've showed you're more than worthy to working more closely with me. Until I decide to bring anyone else in, only you will know anything I have planned for and any secrets that must be known. I entrust every single detail thought out and secret said to you and you only until further notice." [break][break] In return of the gesture the Warden made, Aster pulled the back her hand close to her face. Leaning forward, she gave it a soft peck before pulling herself back. "Understand?" She asked. [break][break] "That said, I want to know what's your relationship with the other council members. Perhaps acquaintances, someone that needs a little 'lecture' from me that gives you a hard time?"

through fire and trial confess your sins Avalon's devotion wasn't found in a naivety to all that Aster was. She heard the rumors; she researched them. Aster always did such a wonderful job in hiding them, but prisoners speak. There have been many that felt the brunt of Avalon's penance for bloody justice. Some of them may have been innocent in the end, but to Avalon, there was no such thing. If the Arbiter sent a person to Avalon's feet, then they must have been guilty. Their punishment must have been beyond anything that they could imagine, even in their worst nightmares. It was a Leomagne's duty to serve whoever they wished with the livelihood of the family's name at stake. Avalon didn't follow Aster blindly, no. She knew exactly that there was a possibility that she was being manipulated. But just as Avalon's hand was intertwined with Aster's, she felt the reverse effect. Avalon's entire being was wrapped up in Aster's palm. She was Aster's weapon of death and justice. It mattered not if it was for some sanctimonious reasoning or if it was truthfully to better the Council. It was being to be wielded by such an esteemed member of society than to subjugate herself to just being another Warden. No, Avalon wanted to be the Warden that was etched into history for her efficiency without a match--Aster knew that well. Perhaps it was why she was so bold with her physical actions. It was a rare moment to be this close, to be this tender, with someone like Aster. She savored every moment. She was still captivated by the shining yellow of Aster's eyes. A feeling of ecstasy began to bubble underneath the fabric of Avalon's uniform. And then, as if life was orchestrated just for Avalon's desires, she saw Aster's face flush. The sight caused a temporary reprieve from her immersion in Aster's presence. Was she too much? The pressing thought made Avalon want to retreat, but she needed to heed her Arbiter's words. Aster was granting her a place by her side? To know secrets that no one else in the whole land of Eos would know? That revelation and the rush of endorphins that Avalon was experiencing made her eyes flutter all over.Did she see a...tail flap? Must have been a hallucination.Avalon's brain was swiftly trying to catch up and then Aster kissed her hand. A gesture that was reserved for the common folk to do to the high esteemed. It was much more personal than a soldier kneeling before their superior. It was those lovely lips touching her skin and they felt so tantalizing. The redness of Aster's face was gone. The sensual smile had returned. The sensation spread throughout Avalon's body, almost making her want to salivate. How was she so fortunate to have had such a tremendous thing happen to her? Avalon had to stabilize; she couldn't fall into her emotions. The complexity of her feelings for the Arbiter converging at once forced her mind to split apart, spreading individual thoughts all among the walls of her head. Yet, luckily, one struck to the center."My guards are wonderfully obedient and even better trained. They have grown past their fear of me and now they're working at the peak of their potential," she couldn't help but revel in how her soldiers had grown, "but any other knight? Oh, I don't think there's too many that give me a hard--"She recalled one."There was a lad by the name of Patton that seems to be trying to usurp my position," she spoke faintly, as if the thought was escaping her. She needed to rid herself of all competition. "But alongside that, I think the only other person who goes out of their way to speak to me is Arbiter Marinou."

[nospaces] [attr="class","onlytime"]
[attr="class","onlytimeleft"] Aster was glad to hear that Avalon's relationship with the guards was leveled out and possibly try to drive a certain someone from trying to get to her position as Warden. "Patton". She didn't know much about this man, other than the simple fact that no one could try, let alone think to replace Avalon. She was the only one who could actually put prisoners and even the most damned criminals in their place and had a strong heart for justice like no other. Her execution and torture methods surpass excellency to where Aster was impressed with a few of them. Who could possibly do better than the current Warden? [break][break] All was going good for Aster and definitely by the looks of Avalon, however her smile began to falter when a name that gives her nothing but a headache was mentioned. She couldn't help but silently, but visibly exhale through her nose while she used her other hand to run her fingers through her hair. Marinou. Just saying it in her head almost made Aster twitch her eye in annoyance. [break][break] "I see." Her voice went low, almost in a grim tone. [break][break] Not that Aster didn't approve Avalon of talking to the energetic Arbiter; who was she to try and control who people can and can't talk to? Of course there were some people she had under the palm of her hand, Avalon wouldn't be one of them. Aster found Styliani to be unstable for the council. She was impulsive, someone who believed her wrong was her right such as daring to break into Aster's own home, and definitely someone who was seen to be unfit in her eyes for many reasons. [break][break] She was either an ally or an enemy. For the sake of Aster's impatience with the young woman, she'd say she was an enemy. From a political point of view, she... had to keep the woman close under her radar at all costs. Her energetic image may be annoying, but she felt as if Styliani had a bigger grand scheme under her sleeves that could definitely go against Aster's agenda. [break][break] "That woman hasn't given you any trouble, did she? Styliani can be a bit... rash, and that's me putting it as lightly as I could. If she even dares to pull off anything reckless that could jeopardize you in any shape or form, I'll be sure to deal with her." Aster growled. "And while I'm very well aware of her position as an Arbiter, this doesn't excuse any careless decision she'd try to attempt. If she gives off or say anything that'd raise any red flag to you, you tell me. The last thing I need is for her to do anything that can threaten the council or even try to destroy it without realizing what she's doing."

through fire and trial confess your sins Arbiter Marinou’s decisions would be anything but rash, Avalon would assume. She accompanied the thought with a tilt of the head, akin to a dog would. She was under the assumption that the two were hand in hand as partners. Avalon dissuaded the thoughts with a gentle shake before opting to reply. Aster’s body language had shifted dramatically, going from the affectionate, playful, and even flirtatious spirit to something different. Honestly, Avalon could only describe it as exasperated. One’s mere name, an esteemed one, brought such feelings to Aster’s mind? Enough to override anything else. There was a mystery there, but Avalon felt not the need to pry.
Though the soldier in her needed to put some pieces together. Since they had shared a touch or two, a sandwich, and some not-so-professional glances, she had to take note. Nevertheless, the belligerence under Aster’s breath did take Avalon into consideration. Once again, she felt her face heat up. “You’ll deal with her? What if I’m following orders, then is it truly reckless?” Avalon questioned, but she sooner tried to take her words back. “Without realizing what she’s doing?” Avalon broke away from her slow withdrawal with an intrigued expression, “That’s peculiar but I will be sure to tell you, Aster. I don’t…I don’t believe she’d risk our organization for the sake of her own gain.”At least, she’d like to hope so.“There were attempts on her life not too long ago and she requested my assistance with that. We interrogated a prisoner and we’re on route to apprehending the other two culprits. That is all that she has requested out of me,” the Warden glanced down at her hands, idly massaging a part of her glove, as not to stare directly at Aster, “but she does seem a tad sporadic.” “But we shouldn’t discuss her if it makes you troubled, Aster. I wouldn’t want to sour the conversation at all,” it was an open admittance to her enjoyment. Avalon had lost herself there a little earlier, but she managed to regain everything. However, she couldn’t deny that a part of her was curious. Were the two highest members of the Council at odds? “Unless that is related to any personal matters that you wanted me to assist you with?”

[attr="class","onlytimeleft"] "...Ah." [break][break] Aster broke into a soft groan while she combed a hand through her hair to release stress. It looked like she let the topic of the other Arbiter get the best of her. She could've handled it better, given her length of maintaining her position (in her regards, seniority is important when it came to the council). She wouldn't let it bother her, but the least she could do was to keep a close eye on certain people she'd know would be a threat. [break][break] "The action done would be reckless regardless of whether or not you follow it, though I suppose you wouldn't be held accountable if you didn't have any knowledge behind the intention. If you knew, that'd be another story that I hope I wouldn't have to tell." She had complete confidence the Warden wouldn't comply with orders from another Arbiter that would be deemed questionable to the council. Even if Aster would very well make a similar approach, she saw herself as the lesser evil in such a situation. [break][break] "Well, at least her well being is safe." Not that Aster necessarily cared, but for someone to go out so young would just break her poor old heart. "Though, this gives me no trouble. I just have deep concerns for the well being of the council. Politics has no side. Anyone can do anything to get what they think they deserve, even if it means tearing down those in the same faction. I just want to make sure there aren't anyone that's a threat to any of us." [break][break] Aster's own motives were no better to an outsider, but to her it was something that could, while not perfectly, but truly bring some tranquility in Eos. "It isn't exactly related, but it's something that's been on my mind for a while and I always needed someone I can trust to share it with. And considering that you're the only one I can lay my trust on, I think it's time for me to give you just a general idea of what I want." She leaned forward, both hands intertwined and laid flat on the table to make herself more comfortable. [break][break] "Let's just say the current council's state isn't doing well as it should be. You may not see it, no one else may see it, but I do. There's just little details that overpass those that aren't extremely keen. It'd be obvious for the other Arbiters to not agree with my vision of how the council should run, but let's just say just one single person in the right mind, in control, and in a more absolute setting may reassure the true safety of our kingdom."

through fire and trial confess your sins Avalon admitted to herself that she had to take in everything that Aster just said. It wasn’t elaborate, no, but it was something unprecedented. In the long history of the Council, there could only be one person that could be considered an absolute leader. That person has long since been dead, so the electoral process reigns supreme. The three Arbiters were always what Avalon had known. Though she respected Styliani, her idolization of Aster overwhelmed her, especially now. Her eyes darted around, searching for any aid in what she interpreted. In the end, the conclusion was clear to her, as noted by the relaxing of her features.Aster wanted to be the one true leader of the Council.By extension, Aster just told Avalon that she wanted to take over the world.“Aster,” her voice came out softly, unsure of how to begin to speak again. Pausing upon the first syllable of her next word, the Warden’s eyes fell to the ground. Her hat hid her expression, which bore the brunt of her contemplation. That paled in comparison to her internal feelings. Aster’s words presented an ultimatum hidden among a hypothetical circumstance, one that Avalon found herself forced to confront.
Avalon rose her head, “do you truly wish to rule over us all?” her tone now grave and confident.“Because there are repercussions for such a claim, I am sure you understand that,” she couldn’t speak with concern. To display that would not allow her to test Aster’s mettle. She lowered herself, making sure to be as close to Aster as possible. “It can even be considered a crime in some respect; treason?”

[attr="class","onlytimeleft"] Aster ran a hand through her in hair, her eyes shifting to the walls and stared away in deep thought. For a brief moment, it looked as if she was actually conflicted on whether or not she wanted to rule Eos with an iron first. On the inside, however, she very well knew what she wanted: yes. Yes she does. Who would say no to having complete control of everything? Nothing excited her more than holding all the power in just the palm of her two spoiled and entitled hands. Except no one could really say she's entitled or spoiled when it's not out of spite. [break][break] As a response, she lightly shook her head while straightening her posture. "I do not wish to simply rule the land of Eos. Or at the very least, rule with malicious intent and do so to gain nothing but power. Oh no, that kind of intention goes very off course from my moral compass." She explained. Of course if anyone would hear her main goal without any sort of explanation, she'd be seen as a bad guy. Well, she probably is anyway behind the scenes... but no one would need to know that. [break][break] "And I know that such an objective... seems very extreme, in a way. And yes, in a way, it could be taken in as a form of treason. However, the law can be a little bit complicated when it comes to mortality and personal feelings mixed in. Would you arrest someone for stealing a food item for their family when they're at their lowest financially? Would you even go as far as to arrest me if I've done something wrong for the greater good?" [break][break] She then pause a moment to chuckle to herself, "Why am I even asking? I think I already know the answer to both scenarios." But then her ten seconds of joshing came to an abrupt stop as she returned to her more professional and serious image. "But I will not try to change your mind if my agenda goes against your own code. I can only reassure you that my intentions are nothing but good and are what I think is for the best in the name of Eos's safety. Albeit I believe the methods I had in mind would hopefully stray me from criminal territory..." Aster trailed off to take a deep and sturdy breath before regaining her composure. [break][break] "I would not stop you if you change your mind on working with me. Or even go as far as to go against me and do everything in your power to stop me."

through fire and trial confess your sins “Stop you?” Avalon began, her voice dropping to nothing but a whisper. “Go against you?”When she concluded, she left a pregnant pause in the air. With it came tension, where even the minor joking that Aster left was eaten away. Avalon hadn’t raised her head since Aster began to speak, where as before she was transfixed on Aster. In the present moment, she merely let herself be silent, only with the rhapsody of different voices telling her everything that Aster’s words meant. When it came time to reply, Avalon couldn’t do anything else-no matter what the voices told her, Avalon resigned to a certain reaction. The Warden lifted her head and elicited a single, robust laugh. Though it wasn’t the laugh that measured her conclusion. The laugh was merely a way to murder the silence. When the light hit Avalon, when she raised her head, her hat slid back enough. It was no longer shrouding her features. And it was the way that her eyebrows strained upward, the degree to which her eyes narrowed, and the redness that devoured her face. It surmounted to Avalon communicating just one thing to the Arbiter. Her words were hardly needed, but she spoke anyways.“I could never dream of that.”Euphoria, sensuality, obsession. All of them were there in Avalon’s short expression. “I told you that everything that I am is yours to use,” she placed her hand against her heart, but clearly gripped her breast. It was as if her heart was trying to tear through her chest. “If you want me to destroy the world, I’ll do it. If you want me to help you steer this world in your vision, I will do it. My code is nothing if it means that I cannot stand by your regime--your side, my Arbiter.”Avalon was forced to take a deep breath. Her composure had devolved into her panting, her face heated by just the atmosphere and circumstances made available. Avalon stood from her seat, placing a knee on the table in an effort to lift herself there. Reckless abandon had taken her as she took Aster’s hands into her own again. The intensity of her feelings caused her magic to spark, tearing apart her gloves. It gave her the chance to touch Aster’s hands, skin to skin, nothing guarding her adoration. Before long, she was on top of the table, but she was properly in the palm of Aster’s hand. The Warden had made herself submissive in essence and in physicality. And she looked longingly, searching for acceptance, in the sharp, yellow eyes of the Arbiter.“A world led by you, Aster, is a world that I would be truly honored to be apart of.”
